How COG Marketing Transformed Gymea Netball’s Digital Presence

Case Study: How COG Marketing Transformed Gymea Netball’s Digital Presence

Gymea Netball Club is one of the founding clubs of the Sutherland Shire Netball Association and has a long-standing history as a proud, community-driven sporting organisation. Administrated entirely by volunteers, the club provides opportunities for players of all ages to participate in netball while placing strong emphasis on player development, as well as mentoring and support for coaches and umpires.

With deep roots in the local community and a commitment to fostering participation, skill development, and sportsmanship, Gymea Netball recognised the importance of a digital presence that reflected its values, history, and ongoing contribution to grassroots sport. As the club continued to evolve, it identified the need for a modern, accessible online platform to better support members, families, and volunteers. That’s where COG Marketing stepped in, providing the strategy and digital solutions to transform Gymea Netball’s online presence.

The Challenge

Before partnering with COG Marketing, Gymea Netball faced several challenges with their digital presence:

  • The website did not clearly communicate the club’s structure, history, and community-focused values to new players and families.
  • Important information for players, parents, coaches, and umpires was not always easy to find, impacting engagement and communication.
  • The digital brand did not fully reflect Gymea Netball’s proud history as a founding club or its ongoing role within the Sutherland Shire Netball Association.
  • Limited digital functionality made it challenging for a volunteer-run organisation to efficiently manage updates and communications.

Gymea Netball required a digital solution that would modernise their online presence while remaining simple to manage, accessible to all members, and aligned with their volunteer-led model.

The Solution: COG Marketing’s All-In-One Services

Gymea Netball partnered with COG Marketing for a complete digital refresh. As their trusted marketing and digital partner, COG Marketing managed every aspect of the club’s online strategy, ensuring the solution supported both day-to-day operations and long-term community engagement.

Website Design and Development

COG Marketing developed a modern, user-friendly website that clearly presented Gymea Netball’s purpose, structure, and offerings. The site was designed to make essential information easy to access for players, parents, coaches, umpires, and volunteers.

Key sections were refined to highlight the club’s history as one of the founding members of the Sutherland Shire Netball Association, reinforcing credibility and community pride.

Clear navigation ensured users could quickly find information about registrations, player development pathways, coaching and umpiring support, and club updates. The mobile-responsive design ensured accessibility across all devices, supporting busy families and volunteers.

Branding and Graphic Design

COG Marketing refined Gymea Netball’s digital branding to ensure a consistent and professional look across the website. Visual elements were aligned with the club’s identity, balancing a clean, modern aesthetic with a welcoming community feel. The refreshed presentation strengthened recognition and reinforced Gymea Netball’s position as a trusted local sporting club.

Digital Marketing Strategy

Gymea Netball’s online presence was supported through a foundational digital marketing approach focused on visibility and engagement. Website content was structured to improve clarity and accessibility, helping new and existing members easily engage with the club. This ensured the website functioned as a central communication hub for the Gymea Netball community.

Business Strategy

COG Marketing worked closely with Gymea Netball to ensure the digital solution aligned with the realities of a volunteer-run organisation. The strategy focused on simplicity, ease of management, and long-term sustainability, enabling volunteers to maintain and update the website efficiently while supporting the club’s broader community objectives.

Website and Email Hosting

COG Marketing provided secure, reliable website and email hosting solutions, ensuring Gymea Netball’s digital platforms were fast, stable, and easy to manage. This reduced technical complexity for volunteers and ensured consistent communication with members throughout the season.

Printing and Promotional Products

To support the club beyond the digital space, COG Marketing also assisted with branded promotional and printed materials. These assets complemented the club’s online presence and helped maintain a consistent identity across events, competitions, and community activities.

Results and Future Plans

Since partnering with COG Marketing, Gymea Netball has achieved a modern, cohesive digital presence that reflects its history, values, and community focus. Improved accessibility, clearer communication, and a refreshed online experience have strengthened engagement with players, families, and volunteers.

Gymea Netball continues to work with COG Marketing as a trusted digital partner, ensuring their website and digital tools evolve alongside the club’s needs. Together, they remain focused on supporting grassroots netball, developing players and officials, and fostering a strong, connected sporting community within the Sutherland Shire.
